Privacy policy

Last updated October 16, 2026

This page explains, in plain language, what data Soonbell handles. We collect as little as we can.

What we collect

  • Your email address, when you follow a product or subscribe to the newsletter. We also keep which products and platforms you follow.
  • Coarse location and a hashed IP address, used only to prevent abuse. We store a country code and a one-way hash, never your raw IP address, in our database.
  • Maker account details (name, email, optional bio and links) if you list a product.
  • Visit statistics through a privacy-friendly analytics tool, which doesn't use tracking cookies or build profiles of visitors.
  • Server logs, kept briefly for security and debugging.

Cookies and storage

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Signed-in makers get a session cookie so they stay signed in. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage on your device only.

Why we use it

  • To send the emails you asked for. You gave consent, and you can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.
  • To run and secure the service and to stop abuse (our legitimate interest).
  • To run maker accounts (to provide the service you signed up for).

Who else sees it

  • The maker, only if you tick the optional box to share your email with them when you follow their product. If you don't tick it, they only see a follower count.
  • Our providers: cloud hosting and email delivery (Amazon Web Services) and our content delivery network (Cloudflare). They process data on our behalf.
  • When paid features launch, our payment provider (Paddle) acts as merchant of record for purchases.

We don't sell your data.

Listings built from public information

We add some products ourselves from public sources, such as app store listings. That means a product's name, description, images, developer name and public links. We may email a publicly listed business contact once or twice to invite the maker to claim the page. Anyone can ask us to remove a listing or stop contacting them, and we honour it.

How long we keep it

Follows and subscriptions last until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your email on a suppression list, so we never email you again by mistake. Maker accounts last until you delete them from your account page: that wipes your name, profile and sign-in details at once, stops the emails tied to your address, and turns live listings you owned into unclaimed ones without your maker story. Records of past payments are kept for as long as bookkeeping law requires, without your name or email. Logs are removed after a short period.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the data we hold about you, and to object to how we use it. Write to [email protected]. If you're in the EU or UK you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Who we are

Soonbell is run by an independent developer. Contact: [email protected].

We'll update this page when what we do changes, and change the date above when we do.
